Task:To improve the quality of education, people think that we shouldencourage our students to evaluate and criticize their teachers. Others believethat it will result in a loss of respect and discipline in the classroom.Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Sample answer:
Nowadays, whether evaluating and criticising teachers should be supportedin the classroom has become a controversial issue. From my perspective, evaluation and criticism of teachers are necessary for the improvement ofeducation if they are objective and reasonable.
On the one hand, proposing changes to teachers’ lesson content contributesto the improvement of teaching quality. Usually, it is difficult for teachers torealise the mistakes and slips in their teaching unless students remind them.Additionally, teachers may not clearly know what students have known and want toknow when planning their lessons. If students can put forward their ideas andsuggestions towards the lesson, it will be of great help for teachers to upgradethe teaching projects. Moreover, trying to evaluate teachers’ lesson isparticularly beneficial for students’ academic and career development in thefuture. The modern education emphasises criticism and innovation. Undoubtedly,it is an effective way for students to debate or discuss with teachers.
On the other hand, the disruptive students will probably disturb the classand negatively affect both teaching and learning outcomes. When students voicetheir opinions in the classroom, it will be hard to maintain the order anddiscipline and the teachers may feel disrespected. Also, students will suffer aloss in terms of knowledge and other learning content. This is because teachersalways devote much to delivering knowledge and explaining theories. If they aredisrupted, the teaching plan may not be able to be fulfilled. As a result, bothteachers and students have to face a loss in the quality of education.
To sum up, it can be recommended that students evaluate and criticiseteachers in the classroom on the premise that they have decent manners withoutdisturbing the learning atmosphere. Only in this way will teachers and studentsachieve a win-win outcome in education.

One of your friends has asked you to be a partner in his new business.Write a letter to reply to your friend's offer. In your letter
give your opinion of your friend's business idea
tell him whether or not you have decided to accept his offer
and explain your reasons for this decision.
范文
Dear John,
I hope you're well. Thanks for giving me some time to think about yourbusiness proposal.
First, let me just say that I think it would be a great idea to open a caféon the high street. It definitely makes sense since there are no other cafés inthe area.
Having said that, I'm afraid I'm going to have to turn your offer down.I've thought long and hard about this decision, and I just dont think it's theright time for me to get involved with a big project like this.
To be honest, I would struggle to find enough money to cover my share ofthe initial investment costs. Also, I don't really want to leave my current job,and I think it would be impossible for me to commit to
the café project while I'm still working full-time.
Best of luck with the café. I'm sure you'll make a success of it withoutme!
